The View from Central NJ

(This is in response to a question: What if the world could vote..) A substantial portion of the world's population lives in nations which are essentially cradle-to-grave "Nanny States"..providing for every need of their citezenry..AND..by doing so, stiflle the entrepreneurial and adventurous spirit that has defined "The American" for 228 years.In surveys and opinion polls (worldwide) before every US Presidential election, a majority of the people have sided with the Democrat; the candidate who most closeley reflects their own socialist views..regardless of his potential effect on the people HERE..in the United States. People outside of the US do not pay our taxes..or vote in our primaries..or start our small businesses with their life savings...or fight for our constitutional rights...or raise our children..or struggle to pay for OUR OWN homes..or pay our insurance premiums...or worship in our churches/synagogues/mosques/temples..or serve on our local school bo...

OK...I've changed my mind. Up until last night..just after the "Barack-umentary" which opened my eyes (finally)..I was a strong McCain-Palin supporter. But now...I'm voting "Democrat"--right down the line. Here's why: The US Economy... 1. Democrats will raise taxes on all of those greedy, evil rich people..you know..the ones who own businesses, then hire people like us to work in those businesses. Business owners who make 250k or more will pay a higher rate than the rest of us..all in the interest of Growing the Economy.."from the bottom up" (even though there has NEVER been an instance of "bottom up" growth in the entire history of the world! If there were..Mexico would be one of the largest economies on the planet..the nations of the EU would be soaring, economically, instead of languishing in growth rates of 1 to 2%..and China would never have transitioned to a market-based economy starting in the 80s) McCain: he won't raise AN...

Senator Obama has repeatedly stated: “They’re going to make you afraid of me. They’ll say “He doesn’t look like us”. And oh, by the way…did they tell you he’s black?” For someone who keeps complaining about the McCain campaign “using race as a weapon”…Obama has a LONG history of doing exactly that. It’s been twenty one months since Barack Hussein Obama (Nixon’s middle name: Milhouse..Roosevelt’s middle name: Delano.. Bill Clinton’s middle name: Jefferson ..Jennifer Hewitt’s middle name: Love) announced his candidacy. Here’s a few questions: Can anyone list three (3) major accomplishments of his which would point to his ability to govern our nation? Can you list ONE? Is Community Organizing an actual accomplishment? Is defeating Hillary Clinton in the primaries an actual accomplishment? (with deference to Mrs. Clinton who was partly the victim of a starry-eyed Democrat party leadership who felt then, as now that “Obama really is THE ONE”) Why has the “main stream” media (ABC, CBS, NBC, ...

Why…WHY..does John McCain not: 1. Name names: tell the voters that Chris Dodd and Barney Frank, and Chuck Schumer and Maxine Waters, and Gregory Meeks and Jaimie Gorelick and some of Obama’s own campaign staff Ignored warnings as far back as 2002 AND are responsible for the collapse of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac? 2. Protest Gwen Ifill as the moderator in tomorrow night’s debate? He was asked if he thought Ms. Ifill’s pending book on Obama would be a conflict. McCain’s wimpy answer: “No…I don’t believe it would” 3. Press the issue of nearly $429 million in un-documented campaign contributions which Obama received from “overseas sources”. Overseas sources? That would be a violation of the Federal Election laws. 4. Press the issue of Obama in Iraq and a possible violation of the Logan Act? 5. Show the images of Obama speaking in Germany..and APOLOGIZING for the U.S..? At last Friday’s debate, Sen McCain never mentioned: Frank Raines..James Johnson…Tony Rezko..Daniel Mudd....

1. Hillary looks like she taught herself to smile...like a blind man teaches himself to paint: either way, it doesn't really work..(but no one mentions it, out of politeness) Is this our next President? 2. Barack sounds like a preacher..who only read the Cliff's Notes version of the Bible. He talks a lot, but says very little (But don't you just love him, anyway?) (It's him) 3. John McCain is going out of his way to "Prove he's a Conservative"...like Ru Paul going out of (his/her/its) way to "Prove he's a woman" 4. Mike Huckleberry...uh..Huck-a- BEE ..is still "In it to win It"..although, he wouldn't get enough delegates to his side unless the NY Times finds Jimmy Hoffa's skull buried in McCain's yard. 5. Bill Clinton's nose is twice it's original size..and 2 more shades of red..since he left office. Then Now 6. George H. W. Bush has endorsed Sen. McCain, calling him a "True Conservative "...which is...
