Arace and Hankins For Manchester, New Jersey

My Choice for Manchester Mayor and Councilman: Robert Arace & Joseph Hankins Here, in Manchester, we were fortunate. We had an honorable elected mayor, Ken Palmer, for more than six years. The Palmer era was genuinely an era of Competent, Responsive Government for the residents and taxpayers of Manchester. On June 24th, Mayor Palmer resigned his office to become a Superior Court judge. Manchester’s loss is the judiciary’s gain, and I wish him well in his new position serving all the people of Ocean County, and New Jersey. Immediately following Mr. Palmer’s departure, the Township Council appointed one of their fellow Councilmen, Robert Hudak to serve as Interim Mayor until the November 2, 2021, General Election. Mr. Hudak was appointed (not elected) to Council in June of 2019 (then, elected in 2020). He has since announced his intention to run in this election to complete former Mayor Palmer’s unexpired term, which ends December 31, 2022. As a government employee and ...

We Don't "Really need these"...

Things...which no one "really needs"; * A car which exceeds 55 mph * Schwarzenegger movies, Bruce Willis movies, Chuck Norris movies * Chocolate milk * Candy corn * Grated cheese * Smart phones which are also a calculator, calendar, flashlight, level and game platform * Color television * Frisbees * Microwave ovens * Pets * GPS * the NFL * Oatmeal Raisin cookies * Swimming pools * Cigarettes * Hair spray * Hair gel * Paint ball guns * Competitive bows (and arrows) * Butane lighters * Chain saws * Plant fertlizer * etc etc etc.. Here's my point: how far will the "Elected officials" go to make sure that everyone is protected...from everything? Every one of the items in this list has, at one time or another, been deemed "risky" or "dangerous" or even "life threatening". Since the horrendous slaughter last week, lots of people have been screaming for "the government" ...

Dear Fellow Realtor...

A letter to a Friend, regarding “the accomplishments of Barack Obama” (in answer to her multiple Facebook posts about “Romney’s bank accounts..”Romney’s taxes…Paul Ryan’s jogging habits (?)..and other Liberal/Left6ist diversions) Dear (fellow Realtor), You may refer to them as accomplishments, but the facts are facts: Barack Obama, Joe Biden and the Democrat majorities in Congress took a very bad economic situation in 2009—and turned it into an even worse economic situation.23 million Americans are out of work (Obama promised a UE of 5.2% by this time). There are about 850,000 fewer jobs in the US today, then there were in January, 2009 ( The deficit is still in excess of $1trillion --Obama promised to "cut it in half"). The debt has increased by more than $5trillion under Obama-Biden.  Gasoline prices have more than doubled under Obama-Biden. Healthcare premiums are up $3,000 on average under Obama-Biden. Troop deaths in Afghanistan have doubled unde...

Crossroads, 2012

Image
The Obama Road..or, the Romney Road Imagine this… You’ve been traveling on a particular road for some time, and you now arrive at a crossroads. From where you stand, you have only two options: travel back down the road you’ve been on, or, take the new road.. You can see both roads. The road to your left (the road you’ve been on)   has been difficult to walk on..mostly uphill, lots of potholes and sinkholes, several dangerous cliffs on either side and lots of   fallen trees that slowed your walk. However, the road was very attractive; very pretty trees, lots of birds singing happy songs all day, beautiful flowers and colors along the road. In fact, one of the features of the road which made it so attractive to you was the beautiful colors all around.—colors that were never on any other road you’ve traveled. Now you consider the road to your right—the new road. The unknown road. From where you stand, you can see part of it. It looks smoother and better maint...

Lawyered-up Mayor Misses an Opportunity

Image
"ToniTeam 2009" Edison Mayor Antonia "Toni" Ricigliano missed a great opportunity Monday night. As the Township Council's Committee of the Whole hearing got under way, Council president Robert Diehl made a statement on behalf of the Council; asserting their authority to convene the Committee, as well as their intent to conduct the proceedings as a means of "checks and balances" on the Executive branch of the municipal government, without prejudice or any attempt to denigrate or ridicule Mrs. Ricigliano or her Administration. Mr. Diehl also cautioned the standing-room-only crowd that no applause, cheers or impromptu comments would be permitted. A good maneuver on the Council’s part. By stating their intentions in advance, the Council established it’s authority as the fair and impartial “People’s” investigative body. ...

On the subject of a "BP Boycott"

Yeah, yeah, yeah.."let's boycott BP!".."Don;t buy BP gas!".."Let's put BP outta business!" The bandwagon has gotten pretty full..even Rosie O'Doughnuts..er, I mean O'Donnel-- jumped on when she brilliantly stated that "the government should seize BP's assets..make it an executive order and let Rush Limbaugh explode!" Thanks, Rosie. You're as smart as ever. But lot's of well-meaning folks have called for a boycott of BP gas and BP products..despite the fact that BP/Amoco stations are independently owned, and a real boycott would hurt innocent victims. But they persist...thinking that buying gas from Exxon or Shell will somehow clean up the Gulf, faster, and save a lot of wildlife. OK..let's assume they are correct. A boycott of BP will, indeed help the clean up. So let's do it. Let's all boycott BP gas stations and BP products... Then that means we should also boycott all plastic products. Plastic is made fr...

The President of the NAR is Starry-Eyed

It's astounding..the president of the National Association of Realtors, Charles McMillan, apparently never attended a Basic economics class. McMillan's assertion that the riidculously wasteful and Pork-focused American Recovery and Reinvestment Act will have ANY meaningful effect on jobs creation is not only laughable, it actually borders on idiocy. Has Mr McMillan even READ the bill? If he had...he'd see that the bulk of the money (OUR money) is aimed at Democrat (as well as Republican) pet projects and political paybacks to Obama's voter base. The "tax cuts' in the bill are mostly tax credits to people who don't even pay taxes. ..how will YOU spend your extra $8.00 per week? Hey Chuck..are you concerned that the Demipublicanss have NOT ruled out permitting banks to act as real estate agents?..which means that the Federal Govt would eventually control a portion of the real estate market when they (maybe, maybe not) nationalize major banks. And..the Home Bu...
