Dear Fellow Realtor...
A letter to a Friend, regarding “the accomplishments of Barack Obama”
(in answer to her multiple Facebook posts about “Romney’s bank accounts..”Romney’s taxes…Paul Ryan’s jogging habits (?)..and other Liberal/Left6ist diversions)
Dear (fellow Realtor),
You may refer to them as accomplishments, but the facts are facts: Barack Obama, Joe Biden and the Democrat majorities in Congress took a very bad economic situation in 2009—and turned it into an even worse economic situation.23 million Americans are out of work (Obama promised a UE of 5.2% by this time). There are about 850,000 fewer jobs in the US today, then there were in January, 2009 ( The deficit is still in excess of $1trillion --Obama promised to "cut it in half"). The debt has increased by more than $5trillion under Obama-Biden. Gasoline prices have more than doubled under Obama-Biden. Healthcare premiums are up $3,000 on average under Obama-Biden. Troop deaths in Afghanistan have doubled under Obama-Biden. The US credit rating has been downgraded under Obama-Biden (1st time in history). A US Ambassador and 3 other Americans were savagely murdered on 9/11/12 in Libya--and Obama's first reaction (along with Hillary Clinton's) was to lie about who did it and why. His second reaction was to fly off to Las Vegas for a campaign fund raiser. But more importantly, why was security at our embassies/consulates NOT strengthened on 9?11/12?--and why does president Obama take such a casual approach to protecting American lives abroad--especially in Muslim countries? How about Solyndra? And the GM bailouts which cost taxpayers $25billion (equaling a few million dollars spent—for each GM job “saved”) .
And then there's the Fast & Furious cover-up (a US Border agent got killed in this one), 45 million Americans on Food Stamps, and Iran, North Korea, China, Russia, Venezuela and other nations thumbing their nose at the US because they see a weak and feckless amateur as "the leader of the free world". But let's not forget about Joe Biden's show last week. Biden lied about not voting for the wars (he did vote for them). Biden lied about tax reductions not increasing Treasury revenues: they do. Biden lied about the request for additional security. He lied. Stevens did ask for it--and Obama-Biden are now parsing words saying that "they weren't aware of any request"-Obama is so removed from these vitally important issues because Obama hasn't really been the President for the past 18 months: Obama has been the Candidate for re-election.
But the reason for his failures are much deeper than simple ‘incompetence”.
Barack Obama has no real life experiences that would have prepared him for the presidency: he never worked in the private sector, he never managed any employees, he never negotiated any labor contracts. he never had to purchase health care. he never bid on any job contracts. he never hired or fired anyone. he never had to adjust his business model to adapt to competitors. he never had to worry about the cost of doing business. he never--ever--had any business dealings other than the purchase of his Chicago home, in which he entangled himself with a felon (Toni Rezsko). Barack Obama has no concept of how a business operates--or how a businessperson will risk everything he has to be successful. That's why Barack Obama is so dismissive of entrepreneurs and business people-we are completely alien to him. That's why he can utter insulting statements like "you didn't build that"--and then not even understand what the uproar is about. Throughout Barack Obama's life, everything has been handed to him since childhood. The Obama story is no rags to riches drama. Rather, it's a story of a very comfortable, upper middle class existence in Hawaii, Indonesia and Illinois. Obama’s worldview was shaped by his father, Barack Obama, Sr. an avowed Communist who hated the US and the UK and everything that represents capitalism and free markets, and his grandfather, Stanley Dunham, himself a hard-left radical. Others who have had an important influence on Obama have been Frank Marshall Davis, Saul Alinsky and William Ayers. For his entire life, Barack Obama has always believed that “the government” supplies all of one’s needs. With a mindset such as that, how can one ever be expected to embrace a free market economy like the United States?
Mitt Romney has had a long, successful business career. Romney has a knack for building and re-building businesses. Democrats claim that Romney is more of an outsourcer, and that he actually “closed down factories”. The truth is that Romney’s success rate at Baine Capital was about 75%. In the free market, not every business is able to survive—which is the first rule of business. Romney has also created hundreds of thousands of jobs, with capital investments in companies like Dunkin Donuts, Dominos, and Modells, to name just a few. By that count, Romney has created more jobs as a private citizen—than Barack Obama ever has as president.
Mitt Romney’s managerial and fiscal understanding also served him well as governor of Massachusetts. As governor, Romney balanced the state budget (Obama—not so much), streamlined state government (Obama—quite the opposite), and decreased the state’s unemployment rate to 4.5% by the time he left office. Again, this is favorite Democrat diversion. They claim that Massachusetts was “49th in job creation at the end of Romney’s term.” –which is true. Ninety five point five percent of the workforce employed is actually “Full employment” by federal government standards. No one’s going to create additional jobs when everyone is working.
Mitt Romney’s net worth is about $250million. (Gasp!) This is yet another favorite target of the Democrat hypocrisy. Romney earned all of his money on his own. He wasn’t “granted” any of it by Uncle Sam. He didn’t win it in a state lottery. He didn’t inherit it. In fact, the inheritance of $5million which Mitt received from the estate of his father, George Romney, was donated to their church. Romney made himself a multi-millionaire through hard work and really, really smart investments. Contrast this with just one of Barack Obama’s “investments” in Solydra Energy: Obama gave Solyndra, who’s CEO/Founder is an Obama fundraiser and bundler, $500million in tax payer money to fund “Green Energy” projects. And how did Obama’s investment fare? Not so good. Solyndra filed for bankruptcy just a few months later. The most important difference between these two “investors” though, is this: Romney invested private capital. Obama lost tax payer dollars.
The number one issue for me and most voters is the depressed economy, the loss of American jobs, and how best to improve both. Comparing both men, strictly on economic issues, the differences could not be more obvious: Barack Obama has failed at his first attempt to “run” anything. He took a seriously damaged economy, applied liberal, government-centered statist policies, and failed. Mitt Romney has had a long, successful private-sector AND government career. Romney took a failing state government, applied free market policies and turned it around in four years. Romney took dozens of failing private companies, and turned them around, also.
Now, in your experiences, (Fellow Realtor), you’re a successful businessperson, an entrepreneur. You’ve had and continue to have, a very profitable career. But—you did it ON YOUR OWN..YOU built it. You didn’t get any help from the government (no Realtor ever does). You didn’t rely on a system of allocated listings or buyers, where a government agency determines who gets the next one. Your success, (and perhaps your life story, itself) is completely at odds with the Obama-Biden-Democrat Party ideal of “spread the wealth…everyone is guaranteed an equal share…rich people are bad people”. You succeed not because of liberal-leftist policies. You succeed in spite of them.
Which brings me to the point of this Monday morning diatribe: My question:
Knowing all of this, and knowing that all of these points are documented facts, and knowing that the last four years under Obama-Biden-Democrats have been disastrous for the economy in general, and for independent businesspeople in particular, how can you support and vote for Barack Obama, Joe Biden or any Democrat? Is it something as simple (minded) as “party loyalty”? Is it continued Democrat party power, or a continuing allegiance to a labor union?
If so, is not loyalty to your country—and yourself, and your family—of utmost importance?
I’ve been a Democrat for most of my adult life. In fact, I’ve been the elected Committeeman for my District since 2009. I believe in the founding principles of the Democrat party—but I don’t believe that Barack Obama, Joe Biden or Bob Menendez represent any of those principles. Wll I continue my affiliation with the Democrat party? Yes. Will I vote for a Democrat candidate simply because he or she shares my party affiliation?
Hell. No.
I wholeheartedly endorse , and I look forward to their election: Willard Mitt Romney for President of the United States and Paul Ryan for Vice President.
The Democrat party has let me down, just as it has let down every other American --some of whom do not yet realize it.
Any clear thinking, intelligent American, particularly any American who has ever been, or is now, in business for themselves, cannot possibly believe that Barack Obama’s second term will be any better than his first.
And beyond all of the economic imbecility he has demonstrated, Barack Obama is simply not up to the task of being president.
Mitt Romney is.
Mitt Romney will turn the nation around in the same manner as Ronald Reagan did during his first term, contrary to Bill Clinton’s assertion that “no one could have turned things around in just four years..”.
Let’s do the right thing. Let’s all get together to save this great nation of ours.
We need competent, intelligent leadership from our President. We do not have that now.
We need to remove Barack Obama, Joe Biden and most Democrats from office, for the sake of our country, our fortunes, our lives, and those of our children.
We need to return America to its place of prominent good in the world.
We need to return America to its place of powerful dominance in the world, which is the only way to assure continued peace.
We need to wake up, and behave like adults, again.
We need Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan.
